Special Tree residential living provides adults with an opportunity to live in the community while still participating in a customized rehabilitation program. Residential living is a great solution for clients on both a long-term and transitional basis depending upon their individual needs.

Comprehensive Care + Services in a State-of-the-Art Neurorehabilitation Center
Our 15-bed facility at our NeuroCare Center South provides a perfect transition from our acute care with access to all of our campus amenities and staff.
Also onsite is our Heavlin Residence, where clients enjoy increased independence in a home specially modified to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities while maintaining a warm, family-like home setting.
With 24-hour supervision and care from our trained, experienced staff, clients make choices to manage their participation in a wide range of activities both at Special Tree and in the community.

The NeuroCare Campus includes a full service subacute rehabilitation unit, with 24/7 on-site nursing and respiratory teams who frequently consult with and advise our residential staff to support client needs whenever necessary.

All clients receive a nutrition assessment upon admission to help develop a nutrition care plan based on their individual needs. The nutrition status of each client is monitored through dietary intake, tube feeding intake, fluid intake, weights, laboratory values and input from their support system and Special Tree staff.

Rehabilitation Service Technicians (RSTs) help clients with personal care and activities of daily living. Special Tree RSTs complete extensive classroom and hands-on training, and participate in continuing education to maintain skills and stay current with best practices in care, safety, and rehabilitation.

Your Special Tree Case Manager is the vital link between you and those involved in your care. Your Case Manager will assist you and your family with scheduling doctor appointments, transportation needs, progress reports, resolving day-to-day problems that may arise, and discharge planning.

Coping with a brain injury or a spinal cord injury can present unique and complex challenges. Our team of Psychologists and Social Workers help identify the social and emotional needs of clients and families, and implement plans to support adjustment to the rehabilitation process.
